A report by Central Pollution Control Board of India (CPCB) states that in 19 states of the country there are 637 tire pyrolysis plants out of which over 1/3 are not complying with the regulations. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has instructed the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to manage the import of end-of-life tires for use in pyrolysis industry. NGT’s Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel asserts that unsanctioned tire pyrolysis operations ubiquitously used in India cause severe air pollution in the country and also impact health of workers of the plants.

Recently, an expert in tire-derived carbon black Martin von Wolfersdorff shared his views on the prospects recovered carbon black (rCB) in tire-to-tire recycling. In his press release Mr. von Wolfersdorff said he appreciated it when tier one carbon black companies spoke about rCB. The expert says top carbon black producers attend rCB workshops, presentations or conferences organized by Wolfersdorff Consulting, and there are ample opportunities for collaboration between the rCB and the CB industry, some of which have been highlighted in his Carbon Black World 2018 presentation in Düsseldorf (see image below). Ecolomondo Corporation – a Canadian supplier of thermal decomposition process technologies for end-of-life-tires – announced that it has selected Maylan Group Inc. of Hawkesbury, Ontario, to construct the building that would house its new Thermal Decomposition Process (TDP) turnkey facility to be located in Hawkesbury, Ontario. The Company and the Contractor have recently signed a binding Design-Build contract with a not-to-exceed price of $6.6 million, with substantial completion expected by January 15, 2020.

Swedish tire pyrolysis equipment manufacturer and operator Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) reports about developing a public, international corporate bond to finance the company’s ownership of forthcoming pyrolysis plants for end-of-life vehicle tires. The work to develop the bond is being carried out in collaboration with the London-based finance financial adviser Zenzic Partners, Enviro says.

Renowned tire pyrolysis equipment manufacturer Scandinavian Enviro Systems (known as Enviro) has decided to launch a holding company in the USA to facilitate its establishment of co-owned tire pyrolysis plants on the US market. Recently, Enviro published a press release disclosing details of the decision. “Our new strategy means that Enviro wants to become part-owner of plants based on our technology as it provides good revenue opportunities. However, becoming a partner places other requirements on company structures, and it is from this perspective that the decision to establish a holding company in the US market should be seen”, says Thomas Sörensson, CEO Enviro.

Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB (Enviro) – a renowned tire pyrolysis equipment manufacturer and operator – reports about signing a term sheet with TreadCraft Carbon LLC, Buffalo, NY, USA, on the key parts of an agreement to establish a jointly owned plant for the recovery of materials from used tires based on Enviro’s pyrolysis technology. According to the Enviro, the two parties have now agreed on the main conditions for a plant deal. A final agreement is expected to be finalized during the second half of 2019 and would entail the sale of a pyrolysis plant, worth approximately between EUR 25 and 30 million, as well as license revenue and future profits.
