The 31st Annual Conference of the European Tyre Recycling Association (ETRA) will take place from 24 to 26 March 2026 at Le Louise Hotel in Brussels. The event will bring together stakeholders from across the tyre recycling and rubber value chain to discuss whether the sector’s future will be shaped by circular economy principles.

According to ETRA, the Green Deal has been criticized from different points of view from many parts. In 2025, after the new EU Commission was appointed and a new policy was designed, green objectives were given a less prominent position. However, the core values have already been internalised by society. Companies and people have understood and agreed on the logic and the benefits. Despite forthcoming revisions and adjustments to objectives and timelines, the direction is set.

Within this context, the tyre recycling sector continues to face contrasting pressures. While there are calls in some areas to delay decarbonisation efforts, recycled rubber has increasingly established itself as a credible alternative to virgin materials across multiple applications. The ETRA conference will provide a platform to examine these dynamics and explore how circular solutions may continue to develop.

Further details on the conference programme will be released in due course. In the meantime, save the date and follow ETRA’s LinkedIn page to stay up to date.
