Emissions Analytics’ inaugural Tyre Emissions & Sustainability USA conference took place in Irvine, California, in May 2024. The Conference welcomed leaders from both industry and academia to share their insights and perspectives regarding how we tackle the challenge of developing tyres with less environmental impact. Tyres are essential for our society to function. How do we produce tyres that are well designed enough to minimise polluting tyre wear but constituted in way to be easy to recycle? How can the tyre industry become more sustainable while delivering tyres to consumers at an affordable price?

PCBL Chemical Limited is advancing its growth strategy through major capacity expansions and investments across its business segments. The company recently secured 116 acres of land in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, to establish its sixth manufacturing facility. The site will accommodate 400,000-450,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of carbon black production, with the first phase set to add 150,000 MTPA at an estimated cost of INR 9.5-9.6 billion over 2-2.5 years. Its strategic location near Kattupalli and Krishnapatnam ports will enhance logistics efficiency.

The carbon black market in Asia is facing price declines due to weakening demand and lower feedstock costs. Rising energy prices and geopolitical uncertainties have contributed to market instability, reducing manufacturers' profit margins. A significant slowdown in the automotive sector, a key consumer of carbon black, has further impacted demand.

FORNNAX Technology, a leading name in India's recycling equipment manufacturing sector, has achieved a significant milestone with the Groundbreaking (Bhoomi Pujan) ceremony for its expansive 23-acre manufacturing site in Gujarat, India. Specializing in high-capacity and heavy-duty recycling equipment such as shredders and granulators, FORNNAX is set on a strategic path to strengthen its foothold in both Indian and global markets, aspiring to become a global leader in the recycling industry. The new facility is poised to be among the largest in the world, with an aim to produce around 250 machinery units annually by 2030.

On February 3, key local personnel from Scandinavian Enviro Systems and Antin Infrastructure Partners’ joint venture company Infiniteria, moved to the site outside Uddevalla where the joint venture company is establishing its first full-scale recycling plant. Orion S.A., a global specialty chemicals company, announced that it has signed a long-term supply agreement with Contec S.A., which will provide Orion tire pyrolysis oil to produce circular carbon black for tire and rubber goods customers. The agreement with Warsaw, Poland-based Contec further enables Orion to diversify its sources of tire pyrolysis oil, commonly known as TPO.

Evonik has launched Smart Effects, a new entity counting 3,500 employees worldwide, born from the strategic merger of its Silica and Silanes business lines that will be part of "Advanced Technologies" within the new company organization. This merger leverages the expertise of both business lines to deliver innovative solutions that benefit both customers and the planet.
